1. Continue working on your preferred prompt
Prompt 1: In some societies, students are expected to identify a career by the time they enter high school. Their courses of study in high school are selected to guide them toward a specific career. Do you think it is a good idea for students to commit to a career at a young age? Take a position on the issue. Support your response with reasons and examples.
Prompt 2: Many students become involved in extracurricular activities to enrich their educational experiences, and some even become involved in so many activities that they have little time to study or complete homework assignments. Should schools control student involvement in extracurricular activities, or should the decision regarding extracurricular involvement be left to students and their families? Take a position on the issue. Support your response with reasons and examples.
2. Write a polished body paragraph for your selected prompt.
3. Stick to third person; include an engaging hook, bridge, and thesis. Make it Times New Roman 12 pt font double spaced
4. Since you turned in your intro, you might not "own" the document. Feel free to copy and paste it or if you have a copy to continue working on it on that version. This one is simply here if you need the format.

Character Haiku Warm-Up
The haiku is a Japanese verse in three lines. Line one has 5 syllables, line 2 has 7 syllables and line three has 5 syllables. Traditional haikus evoke images of the natural world. We will simply play with the haiku format today.
For your warm-up, pick one character from Things Fall Apart. Write a haiku about that character. Make sure your syllables are correct and that you reflect your chosen character. You do not need to use the character’s name in the haiku if you don’t want to.
Example for The Hunger Games
Katniss Everdeen,
Cupid has nothing on your
Mad archery skills.
