October 13, 2025

Green and gold colors were draped across vast swaths of Prince George County as the community joined Prince George High School’ students, staff, and families in celebrating the school’s Royal homecoming, building toward a homecoming night match-up against Meadowbrook Friday night and the school’s dance on Saturday evening.

Throughout the week, Prince George High School students showed their school spirit by taking part in a series of themed dress-up days that sparked creativity and excitement across campus, including a decades-centric day, individual class colors, and other unique events. On Friday, October 10, 2025, hundreds of students filled the high school athletic stadium to cheer on their classmates across the school’s athletic programs - including field hockey, cross country, volleyball, competitive cheer, dance, and football.

For the third year in a row, N.B. Clements Junior High School’s 9th graders were invited to participate in the event alongside their classmates at the high school. While the competitive games among the classes brought their own excitement, the spirit competition brought forth thunderous cheers and applause as each class sought to take possession of this year’s spirit stick. Ultimately, it was Prince George High School’s Class of 2027 who earned the day and bragging rights in the closing moments of the pep rally, the second straight win for the cohort in the spirit competition.

After dismissal and hours before the Royals took on Meadowbrook, nearly a dozen units marched along Laurel Spring Road as part of the school’s annual Homecoming Parade. As families, classmates, and staff lined the parade route between the high school and junior high school, units including Prince George High School’s decorated JROTC battalion, the Royals marching band, the high school’s Student Government Association, and this year's homecoming court made their way down the road with a backdrop of leaves shifting to fall colors and blue skies.

Under calm skies and a light breeze, event attendees set up folding chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities and cheer on the students participating in the community event.

The homecoming celebration continues to be a positive community event for students and Prince George County. Students would return to Prince George High School Saturday evening for a special homecoming dance as the weeklong celebration concluded.
