Laughter, cheers, and school pride filled the air at Prince George High School’s “Royal Games” on Friday, October 31, 2025. Hundreds of students watched as classmates and teachers competed in lively challenges designed to bring the Royals community together—an exciting tradition led by the Sports and Entertainment Management program within the school.

Taking the lead in organizing games and activities were students within Mr. Travis Carr's Sports and Entertainment Management classes, serving as facilitators of games, on-mic talent, and score keepers of the afternoon activity in the school's gymnasium. The "Royal Games" serve as a positive activity for students who have demonstrated positive traits during the school to attend or participate in, with hundreds of students filling either side of the stands flanking the space's hardwood floors.
The latest iteration of the "Royal Games" saw students and staff face off in friendly competition in dodgeball, a three-point basketball contest, a pie-eating contest, and a capture-the-flag game that came down to the wire, among other unique and engaging events.
After all was said and done, it was the high school's junior class, the Class of 2027, who claimed victory in the Royal Games, adding the trophy to their spirit stick win at the homecoming pep rally in October.
While the "Royal Games" is one of the class' most substantial events of the year, the Sports & Entertainment Management class is active through the school year, ranging from the creation of dedicated Facebook & Instagram accounts highlighting the school's varsity sports and student-athletes to engaging with experts in the industry to gain experience and insights. Over the past few years, the students have visited the Washington Commanders, who invited students to a behind-the-scenes tour and meet-and-greet with one of the most recognizable sports organizations in professional sports globally, and the Richmond Flying Squirrels, where they learned about sports operations, concessions management, and more.
